This is my version of Birdman of Alcatraz. A mix of the version on the album Criminal Record and of Rick’s live performance, with a little artistic license by me. I like the studio version the best, but no human could play that – Not even the Caped One himself as there’s several tracks he used there.

(including “Return of the Fire Witch” and “Dance of the Puppets”) The 1st generation stereo master tapes for the album were finally rediscovered in the archives of Island Records in 2003, misplaced for decades.
This release has greatly improved sound over previous CD editions. The latest digital technology repaired high frequency problems caused during original mixing sessions.
With Fripp’s collaboration, Steven Wilson (of Porcupine Tree) remixed the original master tapes and a 40th Anniversary Edition was released in 2009. ~ wiki … Reason alone to 100% mute the movie’s original audio and explosive percussions. I moved the film’s clips around a bit, but King Crimson’s track’s uploaded here super Hi-Fi unaltered.

‘In the Court of the Crimson King’ is the 1969 debut album by the British progressive rock group King Crimson.
The album is generally viewed as one of the strongest of the progressive rock genre. King Crimson largely stripped away the blues-based foundations of rock music and mixed together with jazz and Classical symphonic elements. In his 1997 book Rocking the Classics, musicologist Ed Macan notes that this “may be the most influential progressive rock album ever released”.
Pete Townshend’s called the album, “an uncanny masterpiece”. The album came #4 in its list of “40 Cosmic Rock Albums”, was named as 1 of Classic Rock magazine’s “50 Albums That Built Prog Rock”.
The inside and outside CD jacket art is featured in the video, the inside image showing red balls flying about a toothy kingly sunlike face.

In the film Little Jim sings, ‘Suo Gan’, a welsh lullaby in an “ancient tongue”. The song’s title simply means lullaby.

‘Empire of the Sun’ is a 1987 coming of age war film based on J. G. Ballard’s semi-autobiographical novel. Steven Spielberg directed, starring Christian Bale (Best Performance by a Juvenile Actor), John Malkovich. It tells the story of Jamie “Jim” Graham, a young boy who goes from living in a wealthy British family in Shanghai, to becoming a POW in a Japanese prison camp.
The dramatic attack on the Japanese camp carried out by P-51 Mustangs is accompanied by Jim’s whoops of “…the Cadillac of the skies!”, a phrase believed to be 1st used in Ballard’s text as “Cadillac of air combat.” ~ wiki

Packed with limited supplies, their guitars, and a little creativity, these guys wrote their first song (as a joke) in a lonely off-season trailer park during the winter of 92.
Since then, the threesome formed as Jokers Wild and have written a ton of songs with more in the works. Influenced by all styles of music from heavy metal to pop, the trio have no specific style. You might just consider Jokers Wild in a “genre all their own”.
