I need to retrieve the court records of a previous conviction in Illinois that occured 10 years ago. How can I get them, are they available on the internet?

You usually have to go to the courthouse and pick them up or send a letter requesting your record with specific info (case number, name, dob, ssn) with a check of usually 5 bucks.

My husband and I are going to court to get custody of his daughter. Her mother had an old boyfriend arrrested for breaking in to the house. Now this guy is back in the picture and is going to court…(to say what i dont know) But I have a feeling if that fact about being arrested is brought up, they will deny it. Is it possible to get a record or a copy of a police report if we are not part of that case?

The death certificate would come from the Florida Department of Health. Here is a website that will give you step by step instructions as to how to procede. You may need to send proof of your relationship and don’t forget to send the appropriate amount of money

You WILL NOT find death certificates online. Death records are restricted in most states and the revenue generated from ordering them are a cash cow for most places.

As far as the will goes… Not everyone leaves a will. Sadly, most to not. However, after a persons death a will needs to be probated. If this person died in December, it may not have even gone through probate yet if they left one. You might want to check with the probate court in the appropriate county to see if it has been filed.

Florida does have procedures for distibution if the person did die without a will. They are as follows.

Florida law sets forth rules for the distribution of an estate if there is no will.

If these is a surviving spouse and no lineal descendants, the surviving spouse is entitled to the entire estate.

If there is a surviving spouse with lineal descendants, and all lineal descendants are also descendants of the surviving spouse, the surviving spouse is entitled to the first $20,000 of the probate estate, plus one-half of the remainder of the probate estate. The descendants share in equal portions the remainder of the estate.

If there is a surviving spouse with lineal descendants, and not all lineal descendants are also descendants of the surviving spouse, the surviving spouse is entitled to one-half of the probate estate, and the descendants of the deceased share the other half of the estate in equal shares.

If there is no surviving spouse and there are descendants, each child is entitled to an equal share, with the children of a deceased child sharing the share of their deceased parent.

If there is no surviving spouse and no children or other descendants, Florida law provides additional rules for distributing an estate in such circumstances.

Folks this is an article from an news site in Israel. Why is there no coverage of this in the US? I know that the lawsuit that is mentioned is true. Why hasn’t the mainstream media even commented on this? With the election so close at hand and so much at stake please forward this on to everyone you know. a criminal record will not prevent you from getting a passport. A criminal record however can keep you out of another country. Many countries do not allow someone with a criminal record into the country, whether they have a passport or not. Call the Jamaican consulate and ask if you would be allowed in.

I am applying for a job which is doing a background check and I currently have a non-public record that I am doing probation for. They said that as long as I do good on probation, it will be completely clear not on my record. It is non-public. Will this show up in my background check? (I live in Michigan) Thanks.

Describe non-public, please. In almost every courthouse across the country all records are public – civil and criminal. This includes: theft, felonies, restraining orders, divorces, custody hearings. You name it, and it’s there for anyone to see.

Sometimes a court will seal a record so no one has access except the people involved. The judge will usually tell you that it’s going to be sealed. It’s not foolproof though, many cases that are intended to be sealed are still available to the public. If your probation is not yet complete then it may or may not show.
