How can I obtain public court records and transcripts?

I need court records and transcripts from a federal fraud case which took place in 2003. What are my options for obtaining publicly available records?

TIA

if you are in the same area, go down and get the records yourself. there will be fees associated with the copies. depending on what you need the copies for, they may need to be certified. that usually costs more. each county determines what their own fees are. if you don’t need certified copies, some records are available online (but I don’t know where you are looking for the records). if you are out of the area, some clerks will send you the information if you pay for it ahead of time, while others require for someone to come in person and you can hire someone locally to do that.

How do i get arrest records for Germany?

A friend of mine was arrested in Germany (he was american) and I am trying to help him get his records from them. Does anyone know how?

Why would Germans give a private citizen any arrest records? Besides, they’re all written in German, which looks like ants had sex on a piece of paper and then a seizure.

Are death records public?? And if so, is there a website where you can find them?

I have spent a lot of time researching how to obtain public records on people and discovered there are essentially two ways to do it.

The Free Way –

You will first need some basic information on the person such as their full name and different counties they have lived in. Once you get this data, check out a list of the court houses in the areas the person has lived. The court houses will never give you any information on the phone so you need to go down and request the information in person.

Hopefully you have selected the correct court house which is storing the records you would like to view (sometimes this can be a crapshoot). Some places will only let you look at the records at the court while others will make a copy for free or for a minor fee.

The Other Way –

For folks who do not have the time to act like a private investigator, for a small fee you can access an online data base of public records which stores information on all citizens in all 50 states. While it’s not free, for the amount of time it can actually save you the service is quite a bargain.

The results can be obtained within minutes. The service also offers a full 60 day guarantee, so if you are unhappy you have two months to get a refund.

The service I have used with the most success is Spyspace – http://spyspace.org/

Simply enter their first and last name and get a free instant preview of the results.

Are there free ways to search public birth and death records?

It depends on the years and the states. Some states are not allowing anyone access to birth and death records unless the person has been dead 50-100 years. Some states have these records online but only before 1900.

Where can I find public property records online?

If you’re looking for property tax records, check to see if your county has a tax assessor website. Normally, if they have one, the information will be searchable by address, name, and/or parcel number.

If you’re looking for recorded documents, check to see if your county’s recorder’s office/register of deeds has a website. If they do, you should be able to search by date, name, or legal description (lot, block, subdivision).

Basically the best advice I can offer is to check with your county’s department that handles the type of information you are looking for. If you want zoning info, check with the planning department. Wish I could help more, but I’m not certain of exactly what type of info you’re looking for.

how do you get free results for criminal searches?

Most counties in the U.S. have a public domain data base…you can check on-line by searching your county’s website…It is usually under "case history". This will show you if they have ever appeared in court before. My county even shows the classification of the charge, terms of probation, or time served.

How will having a criminal record make a difference to a 17 year old?

I’m 17 and got done for assault and criminal damage so have a record and am doing community service. I already know that it can mean it’s hard to go to America because of it. Are there any other things that will be problems. Because I’m under 18 does it matter as much?

Yes it can affect jobs you apply for etc.

How much of someones death is public record?

I had a friend kill himself and I was wondering how much of the information regarding his death is public record, and where and how do I get a hold of the info that is avalible to the public.

Deaths and certificates and are matter of pubic record; much would depend on the pubic interest of the deceased, wherein a reporter might delve into as many specifics as they could to get a good story, or just the cause of death on the certificate itself as listed by the Corner’s office, which would typically indicate "Suicide" and what organ(s) that were damaged that initially or what there examination shows caused the death.

Whatever local entity houses death certificates would be the best start, but it would not be limited to that depending upon public interest.

Where can I look up divorce records free?

I am totally sure that the guy my sister is seeing is still married. All the signs point to it. He has no good explanations about where he has been when he leaves. Sometimes he goes out for a gallon of milk at the store and comes back three hours later. He is from a big town a few hours away, so I don’t know his entire background, but there were rumors that he had been married. Anyway, can I get divorce records free in order to nail this guy in a lie?

Quite the detective, aren’t we? Fortunately, you can get divorce records online at any of the major public records sites. Unfortunately, you will never get them for free. I should make it very clear though that you will only get a record that an actual divorce took place. There is some information that is still kept undisclosed to keep those involved in the dissolution of the marriage protected.

With that said, I would have to recommend www.recordssitereviews.com/divorce_records.php. This site has records for all 50 states and it couldn’t be easier to navigate. Some important information that you will need in order to make your search as accurate as possible is his full name and the city, county, and or state that he was married in. If you can squeeze that information out of him, then you will score the divorce record no problem.

However, even if you just have his name, you can attempt several searches within a few states and see how close you get to the information that you are looking for. But you should remember that if he is still married, that no record of divorce will show up. Of course, you can also look his name up for marriage records…
